Wine Saver
Remove air from your leftover bottle of wine with this vacuum pump. We’ve found this buys you a couple of extra days freshness. This always draws a lot of interest and questions from dinner guests and we can’t recommend it enough.
Why we love it: Compared to preservation systems this is small and inexpensive. Sean has been using his since 2015 with no complaints.
Waiters Corkscrew
This waiter style corkscrew is around $20 and works like a charm. This might seem a little extravagant but this corkscrew has some great advantages. It is a little heavier than most which gives you more control. The foil cutter is actually sharp and gets the job done in one twist unlike most others we’ve tried. Also, it looks great. That’s real and wood and there are several styles to choose from.
Why we love it: Compact, feels good in the hand, and most importantly it is a two step pull. This makes a waiters style corkscrew much easier to use.
Wing Corkscrew
Wing style corkscrews are easy to operate and work extremely well. They are also a great choice if you have reduced strength or dexterity in your hands or upper body. Simply pull the top up, place it over the bottle, twist the screw into the cork, push down on the wings and out pops the cork.
Why we love it: This particular model is made of metal instead of plastic. In our experience, the plastic openers are less effective and tend to break over time.
Electric Wine Opener
Super simple. Rechargeable. Fun. Great if you have reduced mobility or strength in your hands or arms. Makes a terrific gift for the wine drinkers and No Snob Wine readers in your life.
Why we love it: Open 30 bottles on a single charge. While at No Snob Wine HQ a charge might last a week or so. I’m sure it will run for weeks in your kitchen.
Stemless Wine Glasses
Stemless wine glasses are great for day-to-day use. They are dishwasher safe and actually fit in the top rack unlike a lot of stemmed glasses. Pro tip: Try to hold the glass above the level of the beverage otherwise you’re warming your drink.
Why we love it: Works great on any occasion or beverage. Much harder to knock over compare to a stemmed glass. Dishwasher safe.
Stemmed Crystal Wine Glasses
As you probably have figured out we at No Snob Wine aren’t fussy, but we do appreciate nice things. A table set with proper wine glasses just looks great and sometimes you’re feeling fancy after nailing a new recipe. They are marketed as “red wine” glasses, but we say go ahead and use them for red and white. We can confirm that they will indeed accept white wine 🙂
Why we love it: These stemmed wine glasses have a great modern design while maintaining the tulip shape. This is a great price for a set of four crystal glasses.
